When ChatGPT launched, I was excited to try it for creative writing. Like a lot of people, I imagined using AI to help write stories.

The output was disappointing. It followed instructions, but the writing itself felt flat. There was nothing distinctive about the voice or style. Giving directions was interesting, but the actual text wasn't something I wanted to read.

Why we built this

After working with AI for a while, I decided to try solving this. BooksWriter is designed to produce writing that's genuinely enjoyable to read, while still following your direction.

It's not a one-click generator. You work with it, guiding, editing and shaping it, until you have something worth reading.
